Outdoor Education Curriculum
Here at St Martins we believe that all our students should experience the physical, spiritual, and emotional benefits of participation in Outdoor Education.
Providing a wide range of opportunities for the students gives them access to a fantastic learning platform; canoeing, walking, indoor/outdoor climbing, Den building, Survival skills, forest school skills and many more are among what we offer in our programme. These activities strengthen personal confidence, team work, relationships, and connect students to alternative environments in a very positive and challenging way.
Our Outdoor Educational Instructor and team facilitate these experiences on and off the Campus. All students participate in an annual programme, bespoke to their own personal development needs. Progress in skills and personal development is closely tracked and impact is clear, as our students grow in confidence and communication skills, team working, independence and self-esteem improves.
“One of the best ways to promote positive relationships, engagement with School life and excel individually through group activities is within Outdoor Education. The power of the Great Outdoors is at our doorstep….!”
