St Martins is partnered with the Mdaula School in Chalinze, Tanzania. We regularly share good practice with teaching and learning with each other, but our partnership with Mdaula goes further than that. On Monday 16th April, 32 students visited Alton Towers in Staffordshire for a reward trip. The students were chosen by their pastoral staff for constantly meeting expectations since the beginning of the year in terms of work-rate, effort, attendance and behaviour. As part of the WW1 centenary, 2 students and 2 members of staff visited France and Belgium from 16th to 19th March, the visit was to explore the battlefields of the war and commemorate the soldiers in the memorials. Welcome to Scout! Scout is our volunteer reading dog and will be in school once a week. Scout has completed her first morning in school, listening to students read and enjoyed every minute of it!
School and Horizons at the Guildhall will be open for all students again from Monday 5th March. Thank you for your patience during the snow closure. We are all looking forward to getting back to business as usual again tomorrow.
In order to ensure student and staff safety, school will be closed tomorrow, Friday 2nd March. The school site is becoming increasingly icy as the temperatures drop and remains snowy in spite of the site teams efforts to clear it. We will hopefully open again on Monday 5th March.
