On Thursday 21st September, we were visited by East Midlands Today who reported on our amazing achievement of having three Outstanding judgements from Ofsted in a row! We are trying to get a link to the news clip so that those who haven’t watched it can take a look. Quentin Rayner, and Steve the cameraman spent nearly 3 hours in the school having a look at what we do and chatting to different students.
On Friday the 29th of September there will be a bake sale with cakes and smoothies- if you wish to send some money in for your child to spend on the bake sale you can. Cakes for 30p or 2 for 50p. Today we said goodbye to four fantastic members of staff – Rob Blyth who is moving to teach in another school and then Dave Wells, Jan Leek and Mr Stone who are all retiring. We wish them all the best for their future.
For wonderful behaviour in his class, Jan and Val thought that Charlie deserved reward. Chris took him to visit Aston Engineering Racing and Wilkinson Coachbuilders where they look after Aston Martins. Some of the rarest cars in the world! What a treat!
As families and our school community are aware, St Martins had an Ofsted Inspection on the 6th and 7th of June. We are thrilled to share with you that the outcome of the Inspection was OUTSTANDING! A link to the report is here: https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/ELS/113042
This morning we held our annual Prize Day celebration. St Martins moved in to the Noel-Baker theatre for an hour and celebrated together the achievements of those in school with parents, carers and family members. Afterwards, we all came back to St Martins to a surprise ice cream van and had a treat. What a super morning! More photographs can be viewed here.
St Martins school choir decided they’d help raise money for the Wheelchair accessible minibus and, on the suggestion of Kimberley McCallion, went busking! We spent an hour in Intu performing and raised a whopping £176.43! We practiced for 12 weeks and in that time learned 10 songs, 8 of which were suggested by students. An amazing feat pulled off with absolute style (as if we’d expect anything less). A huge thanks need to go […]
