We have been the fortunate recipient of a National Lottery Community Fund grant to help us develop an area of the school playground into a Sensory Garden. Work has taken place, and the Sensory Garden is really taking shape. Thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund for your contribution! We are really pleased that to celebrate 20 years of supporting school breakfast clubs, Kellogg’s has awarded St Martins School £1,000 to enhance the breakfast club and help feed children in the morning. We recently welcomed our friends from Udayachal High School in Mumbai, India. Six students and three teachers came and spent the week with us, experiencing life at St Martins and some of the delights of the United Kingdom. The party spent time in London, Beeley (near Chatsworth) and Derby – taking in a wonderful visit to the Mayor’s Parlour and a Derby County match where Derby won 6-1 – they can come back!
Students and staff at St Martins have been joining in ‘World Autism Awareness Week’ 2019 by having a special, relaxed assembly; bathed in blue light where everyone learned about autism and how it is different for everyone. Some students shared their experiences of Autism. Thanks to Aaron for customising our school logo for the occasion!

Our Guildhall Sixth Form students have their own printing business – Gallery 5. Gallery 5 have recently been involved in a project with Derbyshire Police and Project ZAO, an organisation formed to discourage young people in the city from carrying knives.
