Gallery 5’s Bumper Order!

Our Guildhall Sixth Form students have their own printing business – Gallery 5.  Gallery 5 have recently been involved in a project with Derbyshire Police and Project ZAO, an organisation formed to discourage young people in the city from carrying knives. The (not so) quiet revolution of kindness!

Back in September 2018, we celebrated our school’s 50th birthday.  A big part of our celebrations involved Hubbub and their (not so) quite revolution of kindness. Hubbub and Film City have put together this fantastic video of our collaboration and their amazing performance… Enjoy!    

Gatsby Benchmark SEND Video

Staff and students from St Martins and Horizons recently took part in filming for a video about the Gatsby Benchmark SEND, a framework of 8 guidelines that define the best careers provision in schools and colleges. 

Howard saves the day (and the sheep)!

Our students had quite an exciting Outdoor Ed. session last week. Whilst canoeing along the River Derwent, they came across a sheep in the river. Howard jumped out of the boat, waded across to the sheep and helped it to the river bank. What a hero!

Students inspiring the next generation of teachers!

Debbie and Kerry went with Matt, James and Mia to give a keynote speech at Nottingham Trent University yesterday. Feedback from the 100 teacher training students and staff that attended was really positive. We all talked about how we came into the special school system, sharing learning and tips along the way. Flags For The Fallen

National Memorial Arboretum – Flags for the Fallen Staff and Students have taken part in an international project at the National Memorial Arboretum to remember the fallen soldiers of WW1. We were given the names and details of 150 soldiers who lost their lives during the war between 1914 and 1918 and asked to create individual flags of remembrance to be displayed with other schools around the world at the Arboretum in a special […]

INSET Day Reminder

Just a reminder that we have an INSET Day on Monday 15th October – school will be closed to students on that day. Additionally, the INSET Day scheduled for Friday 12th April has been rescheduled to take place on Monday 12th November.
