2017-18 School Council
Link Teachers – Heather & Bryony
The School Council at St Martins is elected democratically and fairly. Every year, in September, we have an election day where lots of our students stand for election as Class Councillors. This vote takes place after, as a school we vote for our Head Boy and Head Girl. This is done through holding assemblies, manifesto campaigns and then the whole school votes on which person will be the best at leading/supporting the School Council.
St Martin’s School Council makes the school an amazing and fun place to be! We are very active and busy in our school and help to make decisions about lots of important things. We make sure that all students’ voices are heard in the school and where possible that everyone is part of our decision-making process.
We work hard to raise money for school projects as well as for other charities. Our most recent and first project was raising money through a non-uniform day and bake sale for the charity ‘Jeans for Genes’. We worked together to raise £150! We are looking forward to raising more money for different causes.
We all enjoy being part of the St Martins School Council and feel that we make a big difference to the way our school is run. If you would like to know any more about us, then please feel free to contact the school office.
