KS3HW

Home learning timetable: KS3HW Home Learning Spring 1
Music: Music Spring 1 Home-learning

KS3HW have had an excellent start to their first half term! They work hard in all of their lessons and produce some fantastic work. During their English lessons they are exploring Diversity and Identify through the text ‘Wonder’. They are exploring the characters through reading the book and have started looking closer at the plot.

In Maths we have been exploring numbers and place value. We have all developed our confidence with Addition and Subtraction and we are beginning to identify mistakes with our own and others work.

In Humanities we continued to learn about Britain, including; migration over the years, population of Britain and the different push/pull factors for Britain. We have enjoyed learning about our country and culture.

In PSHE we have been exploring relationships, mental emotional health and bullying. We have had some excellent discussions.

Update – December 2020

KS3HW have continued to have an excellent term throughout Autumn 2. We have seen an excellent diversity of ideas being brought to the table during group activities and students are becoming increasingly good at working in teams. This has been particularly reflected in English when there have been group discussions regarding the plot of ‘Wonder’ and what our opinions on the book might be. We have had some amazing book reviews, and a brilliant variety of opinions!

In Maths, our focus this term has been multiplication and division, moving onto multiplying and dividing with decimals. We have had some fantastic work from all the individuals in KS3HW, who are continuing to correct their mistakes independently when recognised.

In Citizenship, we have had many interesting discussions in topics such as equality. We have touched on homelessness and the stereotypes that may go hand in hand with homeless people. Our students have all put together some amazing shoeboxes filled with essentials (food, drinks, soap etc.) to donate to the homeless.

We have also enjoyed some Christmas themed activities in December! Enjoying a day of Christmas themed Maths and English investigations, as well as a buffet and Christmas games!
