Welcome to KS3BGE!

Teaching Team:

Bryony Gee, Lisa Harlow and Ruth Killingworth

KS3BGE are a group of 12 year 7 students. This is our first year at St Martins School and have settled in superbly!! We have already been on Outdoor Education and been working hard to earn class rewards and tokens.

Our Learning:

English: This half term, we will be doing our learning around the book: ‘The Bad Guys’ by Aaron Blabey. We will be baselining the students and exploring what prior knowledge and skills they already have.

Maths: This half term, the students will be focusing on number and place value. In addition to this we will also baseline the students so they can share their prior knowledge.

Topic: In topic this half term, we will be exploring different religions and identities.

PSHE: In PSHE, we will be exploring different emotions, identities and responsibilities. This will give the students chance to develop their emotional awareness and feeling of belonging now they are a part of the St Martins team!

Citizenship: In Citizenship, we will be exploring the meaning of the term, rules and self-awareness.

Computing: In computing we will be exploring E-Safety and rules for staying safe online.

Science: The focus for Science this half term will be ‘What is inside my body?’. The students will explore how bodies work and what we need to survive.

Art: In art the students will be learning core skills of drawing, painting and 3d (clay work) fundamentals.

Design Technology: In DT the students will be creating their own pull along toy.

Music: The students will be learning to play a double-headed percussion instrument, using both hands simultaneously, called a Bhangra Dhol.

Drama: The students will be exploring Sikhism through puppetry.
