"The school is a calm and happy place of learning. Staff give pupils the self-confidence to try new things and achieve success" - Ofsted 2017

KS3SGE

Welcome to KS3SGE! Our class is taught by Sammy, with support from Rachel and Trudie, and we have 10 students.

We have had a very settled and exciting start to the half term and the children have started to understand the St Martins ethos. This half term, the children will be attending Outdoor Education sessions with Howard and will be improving their geographical knowledge and their team work skills. In our classroom based learning, we are exploring belonging and identity, emotional well-being, self-awareness and Hinduism. Each of these subjects will enable us to deepen our understanding of how the world works and develop our sense of what it means to be a part of the community. I look forward to getting to know the children better and know that they will each have great success on the beginning of their St Martins journey.

Update: December 2019

KS3SG have had an amazing Autumn Term! The students have worked hard in all subjects and have particularly impressed staff with how quickly they have adapted to the St Martins ethos and expectations.

In English, the students have written some excellent pieces of writing including: newspaper reports, letters, stories, instructions and descriptions. All of their English work has been centred around two books called ‘The Bad Guys’ and ‘The Story of Space’; the students have used their incredible imaginations to bring both of these books to life and even create their own worlds.

In maths, the students have completed a variety of tasks focusing on place value, the four operations and money. They have demonstrated resilience, independence and determination to succeed, when faced with difficult questions and the teachers are very proud of them.

This half term, the students have taken part in Outdoor Education with Howard and Ryan. They have focused on geography skills including learning all about natural disasters. They even made their own volcano to erupt! They had so much fun and were excellent ambassadors for St Martins School.
