St Martins are proud to lead and collaborate on a number of projects through the Opportunity Area (OA) working with all schools across the city (mainstream and specialist).
For the SEND supplementary project we have coordinated a number of SENCO networks across the city and co-facilitated training on the excellent Whole School SEND TA Deployment tool and SEND Reflection Framework.
NB – COVID-19 meant aspects of this work have been paused with virtual / remote training to replace face to face sessions and quality first teaching twilights that were cancelled in the summer term.
As part of the OA Transition Group, St Martins led a group of schools to develop a consistent citywide approach and resources to support SEND learners in mainstream with their transition from Year 6 to 7. A transition pledge and timeline were created along with several transition mini films that shared a student perspective of making the move from primary to secondary school.
